When I began to build this website, I had never heard of sculptor/artist, Vito Paulekas, his wife, ex cheerleader/freak fashion designer, Szou, or his hedonist sidekick, Carl Franzoni. AKA "Capt. Fuck".  Even after spending more than a decade at the Tree House, as well as, on the actual site of Laurel Canyon's legendary Log Cabin, I still believed that 'the cabin with a bowling alley in the basement' had been custom designed and built to be Western Film Star, Tom Mix's, Western Style Estate, which became the epicenter of Laurel Canyon's party scene.
It seemed perfectly natural that when Laurel Canyon's counter culture "freak party scene" emerged in the 60's. it's leader, Frank Zappa, would be lodged in the same LOG CABIN, to hold court over the hedonistic gatherings of the partying 60's elite.
 The glaring error in this story is the omission of Freak Artist/Sculptor,Dance Leader/Organizer,Vito Paulekas,and his Merry Band of LAUREL CANYON Communal Tribe of FREAKS.
